Suggestion is to update the ID in settings, delete the app and then redownload it. This is ideal if the app is free, if you paid for it, then go through Itunes / apple to try and recover the password for the original ID. True, didn't think about having to repurchase it under the new ID. It’s a little confusing, but here’s a step by step guide: 1. Go to Apple Developer 2. Click develop 3. Scroll to the bottom of the page 4. Click downloads and sign in 5. In the upper right hand corner, click “More” 6. Use the downloads search bar.

Notarizing Your Mac Software for macOS Catalina
September 3, 2019
Once Touch ID is off, go to Settings iTunes & App Store Password Settings (it’s right under your Apple ID) and you’ll see a new section on that page called Free Downloads. Then when I restart the Mac it will ask for Regional setup etc., at which point I'll shut it down, give it to the new owner and ask her to log into the App Store with her own AppleID to update to Yosemite.
How Can I Update My Apps Without Apple Id
As a reminder, Mac software distributed outside the Mac App Store must be notarized by Apple in order to run on macOS Catalina. To make this transition easier and to protect users on macOS Catalina who continue to use older versions of software, we’ve adjusted the notarization prerequisites until January 2020.
You can now notarize Mac software that:
- Doesn’t have the Hardened Runtime capability enabled.
- Has components not signed with your Developer ID.
- Doesn’t include a secure timestamp with your code-signing signature.
- Was built with an older SDK.
- Includes the com.apple.security.get-task-allow entitlement with the value set to any variation of true.
Make sure to submit all versions of your software. While Xcode 10 or later is still required to submit, you don’t need to rebuild or re-sign your software before submission.
